Lanjaron
The Spa town of Lanjaron is set within the stunning region of the Alpujarras, on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, in the province of Granada. The area is of particularly outstanding natural beauty. It’s a wonderful destination for those for a true Andalusian escape, with clean air and mountain views.
Lanjaron has also been recognised by the World Health Organisation as one of the places with the greatest longevity in the world. It certainly has extremely high quality waters, which are both mineral-medicinal rich and also used to produce one of the best selling bottled water brands in Spain.
Although Lanjaron provides a perfect rural retreat, the town is located within easy reach of the historical city of Granada, the Costa Tropical and Costa del Sol, meaning you can also get in a trip the to the beautiful Alhambra Palace and a day on the beach during your stay!
About townLanjaron is a spa town of around 4000 residents, located on the old Moorish silk route to Persia; the town has a distinctly Moorish feel.
There are thermal baths in the town, where you can also enjoy a wide range of different treatments. The amenities are well provides for visitors, the town has a selection of supermarkets, shops, great bars and restaurants, and the town hall offers provides useful information on the town and region, which you can ask for in English.
Close to the town sits the ruins of an old Moorish castle, which was an important outlook post during the Moorish occupation, and was later used during the Napoleon invasion.
