Thank you for your comments Sidsel. Just wanted to let you know that we did take your comments seriously and have had the bathroom fully refurbished (you can see the new potos on the add). Also the plants next to the swimming pool have been changed (also you can find new photos), although some people loved the look of the tres next to the swimming pool, but it is true that they gave too much shade, specially, if like you, guests come during the not so hot months. The plugs have been fixed. We are now refurbishing the terrace so we will have more out door space, we have changed the sofá and the second bedroom also has been changed and is much nicer now. I hope you get to see all the changes some time. Hope you are well. Warm regards, Karlien

Myself and my partner recently spent 12 days at Casa Karlien as frequent visitors to Nerja i have to say this was by far the best holiday we had in Nerja and it is thanks to this little gem of a villa! we could not have asked for more, the villa has everything one could need and to say it exceeded our expectations is putting it mildly. The Villa is in immaculate condition and still maintains the rustic Andalusian charm that you would expect in this region of Spain. Its spotless clean and decorated to a really high standard. The Villa is ideal for couples or family and is ideally situated close to the beach, Nerja town Centre and the Balcon De Europe. From the initial booking through to when we checked out our host Karlien could not have done enough for us to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The ease of the booking process, check out etc. really makes all the difference. A first class service in first class accommodation ... We will definitely be back again!

The pictures really don’t do this property justice- it is absolutely beautiful! The house was absolutely immaculate and with good facilities. The Pool is a really good size- big enough to swim in but not too deep for our 11 year old to play in, which he did constantly! The balcony off the main bedroom has beautiful views- lovely for reading or enjoying a coffee in the morning. The host, karlien, was very accommodating. She was waiting for us when we arrived and gave us lots of useful information about the area eg shop opening times and directions to the beach. She also called taxis for us during our stay, which was really helpful as we wanted an easy way to get to the caves! The property is around a 10 minute walk from burrina beach and a selection of bars and shops (down quite a steep hill so worth considering in the middle of summer- we got very sweaty on the walk back up!) We had a wonderful week here, I would recommend this property 100% :)
Hi Rebecca! Thank you! I really appreciate your lovely review about the House. So happy to read that you enjoyed your stay and that the House met up to your expectations. I hope to see you again some day. Take care, Karlien

A little late in the year to go, lots of rain, but hey, it was November/December. Spanish people, as always, friendly, polite and very genuine. If I am totally honest, Nerja was almost totally closed down for the winter and catering to its resident, retired British community. I don't want to listen to music from Top of The Pops, or eat Sunday Roast, or deal with dogs in hotels & restaurants or dog fouling on public footpaths when I am in Spain. I thought Nerja would be more authentically Spanish. Frigiliana was amazing, as were the Nerja Caves, early morning being best. Pricing and quality depended on finding the quieter, smaller places frequented by locals. Food, generally is becoming "internationally touristy" to it's detriment. I could not quite overcome the feeling I was in Lancing, Sussex, at times.Just more and more of Spain becoming not Spain. Tourism is a lifeblood but is Spain selling its soul?
